This annual event in Zemithang, Arunachal Pradesh, known as NatureFest, is a remarkable celebration of the region's biodiversity. Hosted by the Jagrav Foundation in Association with Agola Sons Foundation and supported by key private and public partners, this festival is a significant gathering of experts, conservationists, and local communities dedicated to the preservation of the area's rich flora and fauna.

At the heart of the festival is a commitment to empowering local communities. Workshops are organized to equip residents with skills that allow them to benefit from the natural resources of Zemithang responsibly. Through initiatives like these, Nature Festival not only contributes to the economic development of the area but also fosters a sense of ownership and pride among its inhabitants.
By combining efforts to protect the environment with initiatives that support local communities, Nature Festival sets an inspiring example of how conservation and economic development can go hand in hand.
We often get asked why did we choose Zemithng as the first location for the event and the answer will be obvious to anyone who comes to attend the festival.
Its a Biodiversity Hotspot : Zemithang is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity, boasting a diverse array of flora and fauna endemic to the Eastern Himalayas. The region's altitude, varied terrain, and pristine forests provide a habitat for numerous species, including the iconic Red Panda, Himalayan Black Bear, and a plethora of bird species such as the Satyr Tragopan and Rufous-necked Hornbill.
Conservation Significance :
Arunachal Pradesh harbours significant populations of endangered and threatened species, making it crucial for conservation efforts. By hosting the Nature Festival in Zemithang, we aim to shine a spotlight on these species, particularly the Red Panda, and advocate for their protection through awareness and ecotourism initiatives.
Cultural Heritage
Zemithang is home to the Monpa tribe, known for their rich cultural traditions including vibrant festivals, intricate handicrafts, and traditional architecture. Integrating cultural experiences into the festival not only enriches the participant's experience but also supports local communities by showcasing their heritage and fostering cultural exchange.

Accessibility and Infrastructure
While retaining its remote and untouched charm, Zemithang offers adequate infrastructure for hosting a festival of this scale, including accommodation options ranging from eco-lodges to homestays. Accessible roadways and logistical support ensure smooth operations and a comfortable experience for festival participants.
Tourism Potential
The festival will serve as a catalyst for promoting tourism in the Tawang region, attracting visitors from near and far to experience its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Increased tourist footfall during the festival period will not only contribute to the local economy through spending on accommodations, dining, and souvenirs but also raise awareness about the region's conservation efforts, thereby fostering a sense of responsibility among visitors towards supporting sustainable tourism practices.
