Activities at the Red Panda Festival include interactive exhibits on red panda biology and conservation challenges, alongside cultural performances and guided nature walks celebrating the biodiversity of the Tawang region.

Skill Development Program

The Skill Program is an integral part of the Nature Fest. The program will be run by experts from the “India Bird Tours” company in collaboration with Forest department at Zemithang & Lumla region. It aim to equip local

community members with necessary skill to become competent bird guides, covering topics such as nature tour planning, guiding, and post tour activities.

Aims of Training program are -

Empowering Locals : Ecotourism initiatives empower residents by creating employment opportunities. Local guides, naturalists, and artisans find meaningful work, sharing their knowledge of the region’s biodiversity with curious travellers. Training programs, like the one held

during the Nature Festival, equip them with essential skills.

Preserving Nature : As visitors explore Zemithang’s trails, wetlands, and birdwatching spots, they contribute to conservation efforts. The revenue generated from ecotourism can fund habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring, and anti-poaching measures. By valuing their natural heritage, locals become stewards of the land.

Economic Boost : Ecotourism injects life into the local economy. Homestays, small-scale handicrafts, and community-based enterprises thrive. Visitors purchase handmade souvenirs, savor local cuisine, and engage in cultural exchanges. The ripple effect extends to transportation services, restaurants, and markets.
